In brief: Meeting Bots bill $1/hour for cloud join time plus ChimpHands credits when you @mention a bot or run LLM transcript processing—adding personalities does not double transcription.

Meeting Bots use two meters:

Transcription is per meeting—not per bot​

One visible agent joins and one transcript is produced for the meeting, regardless of how many personalities (bots) you attached.

  • Adding QABot + FDEAssist + PMCritique does not charge double (or triple) join time.
  • You pay for meeting duration, not for the count of custom bots.

That is intentional: multi-bot brainstorming should not punish you for richer personalities.

When ChimpHands credits are used​

LLM calls are not continuous for the whole meeting. Credits are consumed when you explicitly invoke the agent or when LLM processing runs on the transcript:

  • Chat @testchimp or @BotName (org members only)—each mention that needs a model response
  • PII redaction / summarization (auto on meeting end or manual re-process) when those steps use the LLM

Passive listening and transcription alone do not burn ChimpHands credits for every spoken minute.

Practical budgeting tips​

  • Prefer calendar-linked joins you actually need; leave the bot when the discussion that needs it is done.
  • Use @mentions for targeted questions instead of asking the bot to narrate the whole call.
  • Prefer project-level auto-summarize levels that match retention needs—higher compression is more LLM work when processing runs.
  • Keep multiple bots for clarity of personality; they do not multiply the $1/hour join meter.

Meeting Bots require the organization MEETING_BOTS capability (included on eligible Teams / Growth plans). If the Meeting Bots sidebar is missing, check your plan or contact support to enable the capability.
